Aksiyon yönünü RPG öğeleriyle süsleyen Survivor, kolayca ayırt edilebilir ve farklı bir yapım.
İşte başlıyoruz
Gelecekteki bir takım başarısız deneyler sonrası, yaratıkların istilasına uğrayan araştırma üssünden bir grup asker ve bilim adamı hayatta kalmayı başarıyor. Oyunda, üç farklı karakteri (Asker) kontrol edebiliyoruz. Her birinin özellikleri diğerinden farklı doğal olarak. Sniper, pompalı ve makineli tüfek gibi üç farklı karaktere özel silahımız mevcut. Her bölümde üç farklı karakterden birisiyle oynuyoruz. Yalnız başına ilerlediğimiz bölümlerde, bazen takviye askerler yardım için bulunuyor. Bazı bölümlerde ise, bilim adamlarının yapması gerekenler olduğu için bu kez koruma ateşi görevi görüyoruz. Genellikle temizlik yapmakla yükümlüyüz.
Shadowgrounds Survivor, RPG öğelerini de içinde barındıran bir oyun, ama detaylı diyaloglar beklemeyin. Oyunda, bir puan sistemi bulunuyor. Her öldürdüğünüz yaratık karşılığı puan topluyorsunuz ve bu bar tamamen dolduğu taktirde seviye atlamaya hak kazanıyorsunuz. Hem karakter özellikleri, hem de kullandığınız silahlarda bazı geliştirmeler oluyor. Tabii ki bar sıfırlanıyor ve bu sürekli kendini tekrar ediyor.
Oyunda her zaman yaya değilsiniz. Bazen sabit ağır silahları kullanmanız gerekecekken, bazı bölümlerde sadece dev robotlar kullanarak ilerliyorsunuz. Oyunun görsel yönü oldukça kaliteli hazırlanmış. Mekan tasarımları ve özellikle harekete göre değişebilen dinamik gölge ve ışıklandırmalar göz okşuyor. Oyunun kesinlikle en iyi yönü bu. Aynı şekilde fizik efektleri de bir o kadar kaliteli. Hiç bir şey, olduğu yere yapışık değil, her şeyi hareket ettirebiliyor veya parçalayabiliyorsunuz. Kötü sayılabilecek bir yön ise, Options bölümünde aydınlatma imleci haricinde hiçbir grafiksel ayarlama bulunmuyor. Özellikle yoğun saldırılar olduğunda oyunda donmalar yaşanabiliyor. Ses konusunda da başarılı olan oyunda müzikler pek olmamakla birlikte oyunun temposuna göre ayak uyduruyor. Shadowgrounds Survivor, her ne kadar Aksiyon RPG özelliklerini barındırsa da, oyunun hedef sistemi bir strateji oyunundan hemen hemen farksız. Klavye + Mouse ile oynayabildiğiniz gibi, isterseniz Options menüsünden sadece Klavye seçeneğini de seçebiliyorsunuz. Online özelliği olmayan oyunda, Co-op modu da mevcut.
Oyunun senaryosu biraz kısa olsa da, özellikle final bölümünde güzel bir ekstra özellik bulunuyor ve bu bölüme özel, üç karakterimizden istediğimizi seçerek devam edebiliyoruz.
Bölüm geçtikçe, oyunun Survivor başlığı altındaki bölümler de birer birer açılıyor. Böylece daha sonra istediğiniz bölümü, istediğiniz karakter ve onun özelliklerini seçerek oynayabiliyorsunuz. Sonuç olarak Shadowgrounds Survivor, kesinlikle çok güzel bir oyun. Derin bir senaryoya sahip değil, ama eğlenceli oyun yapısı ve muhteşem görselliğiyle kalitesini gösterebiliyor.
